What Jellycat is this?
Found one at a market, been given one without its tag, or can’t remember what yours is called? Here’s how to find out, retired Jellycats included.
The quickest way: Identify
Identify is part of the free Jellybook app for iPhone and iPad. Take a photo of your Jellycat and it shows you the three closest matches from the catalogue.
- Open Identify from the Explore or Community tab.
- Take a photo, or choose one you’ve already got. For the best match, photograph the whole Jellycat in good light, on a plain background.
- Pick the right match from the three closest. One tap adds it to your collection or wishlist.
Already have Jellybook? Make sure you’re on the latest version. How Identify handles your photos
Still got the tag?
The tag has the Jellycat’s name and product code on it. Search Jellybook for either one to find its page, with its sizes, release date and whether it’s retired.
Look it up in the catalogue
No app to hand? Browse the whole catalogue on the web by category, size and release year, and compare the photos. If you think yours has retired, start with the retired list.
Questions about Identify
Can Identify find retired Jellycats?
Yes. Identify looks through the whole Jellybook catalogue, retired Jellycats included. A few older ones may still be missing, because Jellycat doesn't keep a public archive of everything it has made. We add them as we find them.
What if Identify can't find my Jellycat?
Try another photo of the whole Jellycat in good light, on a plain background. Still no luck? Browse the catalogue by category, size and release year, or email hello@myjellybook.com and we'll help you track it down.
Can Identify tell me if my Jellycat is real?
No. Identify compares your photo with the Jellycats in our catalogue, so it can tell you which one yours looks like, but not whether it's genuine.
Is Identify free?
Yes. Everyone gets 3 identifies a month for free. Jellybook Pro gives you up to 100 a month and costs $2.99 a week, $5.99 a month, or $59.99 once for lifetime. Those are US prices, and the App Store shows you the price where you live.
What happens to my photo?
The first time you use Identify, the app asks before sending your photo, and it always removes the photo's location. We don't keep your photo on our servers. We only save which Jellycats it matched, and whether you told us a match was right, so we can make Identify better.
